Our Story

We're not your typical architects. We spend half our time in the mountains and the other half making sure those mountains have spaces worth visiting.

Adventure architecture project

How We Got Here

Started back in 2012 when our founder, Dan Tavrix, got fed up with seeing cookie-cutter lodges ruining perfectly good mountain views. He figured there had to be a better way to build stuff that actually belongs in the wilderness.

Turns out, he was right. What began as a one-person operation sketching designs on camping trips has grown into a team of 15 architects, engineers, and outdoor enthusiasts who genuinely get what adventure tourism needs.

We've designed everything from backcountry huts to full-scale adventure resorts. Each project taught us something new about working with the land instead of against it. And yeah, we've made mistakes along the way - that's how you learn what actually works when you're building at 2,000 meters elevation.

What We Actually Do

Real talk - we design buildings for people who'd rather be outside. That means understanding both architecture AND the adventure industry.

Adventure Resort Design

Full-service resort planning that balances guest comfort with that "you're actually in the wild" feeling. We handle everything from site selection to the final doorknob.

Eco-Tourism Architecture

Low-impact doesn't mean low-quality. We design facilities that leave barely a footprint but make a huge impression on your guests.

Outdoor Recreation Facilities

Climbing gyms, bike parks, trailheads - if people are gonna sweat in it, we can design it. Function first, aesthetics close second.

Wilderness Lodge Construction

Remote builds are our specialty. We've worked in places where the nearest road is a helicopter ride away. Logistics is half the battle.

Adventure Park Planning

Zip lines, ropes courses, via ferratas - we work with operators to design parks that're both thrilling and safe. Insurance companies love our attention to detail.

Sustainable Mountain Retreats

High-altitude builds come with unique challenges. Wind loads, snow drift, solar exposure - we've figured out what works through years of trial and error.

The Team

A bunch of architects who actually use the stuff we design. Seriously - if you can't ski, climb, or at least hike, you probably won't fit in around here.

Our Approach

Look, we're not gonna pretend every project is some groundbreaking masterpiece. Sometimes you just need a solid building that does its job without being fancy. But we do bring something different to the table.

First off, we actually spend time on-site. Not just the initial visit - we come back during different seasons, watch how people move through the space, see where the wind hits hardest. You'd be surprised how many architects skip this part.

We also work closely with local communities and operators. They're the ones who'll be living with our designs long after we're gone. Their input isn't just valuable - it's essential.

And yeah, we push for sustainable practices, but not in that preachy way. It just makes sense economically and practically. Solar panels at altitude? They actually pay for themselves. Proper insulation? Your heating costs drop like a rock. It's not hippie stuff - it's smart business.

Got a Project in Mind?

We're always up for a challenge, especially if it involves interesting terrain or unique requirements. Let's grab a coffee and talk about what you're thinking.
